The amount reported in Box 12 for Code C on my W-2 was wrong and my employer is reissuing a corrected W-2. According to my employer, the taxable wages in box 1,3,5 and 6 are correct and tax withholdings in box 2,4,5, and 17 are correct. Just not sure if the IRS needs to see the corrected amount reported in box 12. Please advise.

If the taxable wages are not changing despite the change on 12c, then you should not file an amended return. The IRS does not want an amended return unless it changes the tax bill.
this was a correction to the amount of taxable group-term life insurance. the correct amount, according to your
employer, was already reflected in the proper boxes so there is nothing to amend
No, you do not need to amend your tax return if your corrected W-2 indicates that there is nothing to amend.
