I already filed my state and federal taxes months ago and received my refunds from both, but I recently received an update to my W2 in the mail from my employer correcting an error. They misreported my Social Security tax withholding's, previously it stated I had $1312 withheld and the new corrected one says I had $1900 withheld. Do I need to amend my tax return? I can't figure out if Social Security withholding's have any effect on tax returns or not.

No, you do not need to amend the tax return for a correction to the SS taxes paid.
Unless you had more than 1 employer and the total SS in box 4 is more than $8,537.40. Then you can get the excess back.
but the IRS would likely have caught the overpayment if you had multiple employers and went over the social security limit.
