Do I need to amend my 2015 taxes if I got and corrected 1099G state form?

I got the same notice from the State of Louisiana.  I received a letter dated 4/12/2017 stating that I would be receiving a corrected 2015 1099G from the state.

However, I see on my corrected 1099G that the Tax Year of the change reported or the corrected 1099G is 2014.  I believe that we need to amend our 2014 tax returns.  The 1099G is referring us to tax year 2014, though it was issued in 2015.

According to the letter, the corrected 1099G  should be "used to amend your federal and state income tax returns for the tax period listed on the corrected 1099G."

Based on that letter, we do need to amend both federal and state returns.
