The Deluxe online edition is a lower edition than Self-Employed so there is no need to change editions.

You can amend the 2020 tax return at no charge since you used the SE edition.

An amended return, Form 1040-X, can only be printed and mailed to the IRS if the original tax return was not e-filed. The IRS will take up to 16 weeks or longer to process an amended tax return.

Before starting to amend the tax return, wait for the tax refund to be received or the taxes due to be paid and processed by the IRS.

See this TurboTax support FAQ on amending a tax return originally completed and filed using the 2020 TurboTax editions - https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/amending/help/how-do-i-amend-my-return/01/27439

I need to amend my taxes to access Form 982 and file the 2020 amendment electronically.  Is the Form 982 and forms section only available via the Turbotax Deluxe?  I purchased the Self-Employment and completed tax with same but do not see a "forms" section via the self-employment product to complete the Form 982.

See this TurboTax support FAQ for Cancelled debt and use of a Form 982 - https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/tax-topics/help/how-do-i-report-excludable-non-taxable-canceled-de...

If you require a Form 982 then you will have to get a download of the TurboTax desktop editions for tax year 2020.  There is not a Forms mode with using the TurboTax online editions.

Assuming that you purchased the Self-Employed online edition, you can contact TurboTax support and they can push the Home & Business desktop edition to your download account at no charge (Windows or Mac).

You will also need to download your 2020 tax data file from the online edition so that you can continue to  amend your tax return using the return you completed and filed.

See this TurboTax support FAQ for how to download the tax data file - https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/saving/help/how-do-i-save-my-turbotax-online-return-as-a-tax-data-...

Once you have downloaded and installed the 2020 TurboTax desktop edition, click on the File menu at the top left of the desktop program screen.  Click on Open Tax Return and browse to the location where you downloaded the 2020 tax data file.

Before amending your tax return save the original return.  Click on File at the top left of the desktop program screen.  Click on Save As...use a name to identify the tax return as the original.

To amend the 2020 tax return that was filed, continue your 2020 tax return.  Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using the Home & Business Edition).  Click on Other Tax Situations.  Scroll down to Other Tax Forms and click on Amend Return
