I filed my taxes and already received my refund but the amount I received was less than half of what I thought I would’ve been receiving. I’m not sure if I filled something out incorrectly or missed something, but does this mean I have to amend my taxes if I think something went wrong?

The IRS will be sending you a letter in the mail within a few weeks that explain what they changed on your tax return to reduce the federal tax refund. If you disagree with the changes there will be a procedure in the letter for who to dispute the IRS changes.
Do not amend your tax return until after you receive the IRS letter.
Thank you, but I literally got back less than a third of what I made in 2021, how does that even make sense? That’s what makes me think I missed something, how could it be that little of an amount?

Okay...What was the amount the IRS sent to you based on the IRS website for federal tax refunds - https://www.irs.gov/refunds
What is the amount of your federal tax refund as shown on the 2021 Form 1040 Line 34?
