Who is it from? What's the description on it? It may be for the new 3rd EIP stimulus payment. Do you have a high income? It is 1400 per person but phases out for high incomes.
It appears that the amount I received was my federal return but exactly $2,400 less. According to the IRS website, they adjusted my return by $2,400 (still waiting on the explanation letter). But looks like I may have forgotten to claim the second stimulus. I looked at my return and it appears that I claimed everything accordingly.
Do you have 2400 on your 1040 line 30? That could be for the first or second stimulus payments. Did you get both of them? The first one was 2400 for married. The second payment is 600 per person so if you are married with 2 dependents it would be 2400. If you already got both the Stimulus checks then you should have 0 on line 30. If you missed entering the amounts you got in the 2 boxes or entered the amounts in the wrong box then Turbo Tax gave it to you again which was wrong. And it should not be on your return. It increased your refund by mistake.
