We're sorry that you've chosen another method to prepare your income taxes this year; but we hope that you will consider us again in the future.

In response to your question, it is not technically possible to load a tax document that has been already loaded into TurboTax directly then into another tax software program.  There are two quick and easy solutions, however, around this issue for a W-2.

First, you can simply type your W-2 information into the other tax software manually.  In most programs, this takes only 2 or 3 minutes to accomplish.

Second, you can potentially use your other tax software to obtain a copy of your W-2 directly from your employer's payroll computer server, just as you did with TurboTax.  Simply because the same document has been copied once should not mean that it cannot be copied again.

Finally, with respect to your W-2 statement and TurboTax, if you began your tax return using our website-based program (TurboTax online), then you should be able to log back into your account (it doesn't matter if you finished the tax return or not) and delete your W-2 information directly from there, if you are concerned about privacy.  That will completely remove the W-2 data from our computer systems.  Those easy steps are:

1. Open your return in TurboTax.

2. In the upper right corner, click My Account > Tools.

3. In the pop-up window, select Delete a form.

4. Click Delete next to the form/schedule/worksheet you want (e.g., W-2)and follow the onscreen instructions.

We're sorry to see you go, but do wish you the best of luck with your tax return filing(s).
