Check your account and routing number listed on your return to make sure that is correct. The numbers can be found in theRefunds section on page 2 of the form 1040. You can also log back into your TurboTax online account and check your tax timeline File section for the information.

If your information is correct, check with your bank to find out if they showed any pending deposits or if they show any deposits that were returned.

If the information is incorrect, most likely the deposit was rejected and sent back to the IRS. When that happens the IRS sends you a check in the mail to the address listed on your return after it is returned to them.

How did you pay for your TurboTax preparation fees (if applicable)? If you used the TurboTax Free Edition Online, you may have chosen certain add-ons that may have generated a fee. If you used the Refund Processing Service to pay your fees then contact Santa Barbara Taxpayer Group (SBTPG) at 1-877-908-7228  to find out if the refund was sent to them. If it was, they will assist you in receiving your refund.

You can also contact the IRS at 1-800-829-1040 to find out if they show the refund was rejected. If they do show the refund is rejected, once the funds are returned to them, you will receive a check in the mail to the address listed on the return. They can also assist you with a refund trace (if applicable). You can start a refund trace using the Where's My Refund? IRS tool if it has been more than 28 days since the IRS sent your refund.
