The vehicle was purchased by our S-corp and the credits transferred to our Schedule K's which populated form 3800. Should I download the 8936 forms to my 1040? Won't that duplicate the credit on the 3800?
Should I just fill out the forms and then attach the pdf's to the 1040 before submitting? Or does it need to be mailed separately?

The 8936 should only be filed by the corporation. Your share of the credit should be reported by form 3800 which is just reporting that you have a business credit to reduce your tax liability. You don't need the 8936 to justify the credit on your return because that was already done on the S-Corp return.
I'm still a bit confused. I don't think there was a way to attach it to the 1120s which I have now filed. Do I mail the form somewhere separately?
You are correct: Form 8936 does not get filed with the 1120-S.
Because an S-Corp is a "pass-through" entity, it doesn't pay income tax itself, so it can't use the credit. Instead, the credit "passes through" to you (the shareholder) to use on your personal income tax return (Form 1040). Here is how to handle this so you don't lose that credit:
If you already issued yourself a K-1 without this info, you may need to file an Amended 1120-S (specifically checking the "Amended Return" box) to officially pass that credit through to your 1040. Here is how to prepare the amended return in TurboTax Business.
Thank you for your patient explanation. I did pass through the info on the K1's. This info passed through fine onto the 1040. If I generate an 8936 with the 1040 the information duplicates. That's why I called using the "speak to an expert" service. They told me the info passes through and it is not necessary to include the form. Hence the confusion. I have submitted the 1040 as well. I usually do my personal and business forms simultaneously.
