Checked the status of state refund and it says they mailed it. I signed up for direct deposit to get federal and state at same time. Why would they mail the state?

No you did not sign up to receive federal and state refunds at the same time.   It is not possible to do that, since those refunds are issued by completely separate taxing authorities.   You may have been confused by choosing to pay your fees at the same time or by agreeing to have fees deducted from your federal refund.   Only the state can tell you why they mailed a check instead of using direct deposit.

Your right I was confused I dont know were i thought that. I was worried about it cause I just moved after filing my taxes so when they mailed my check it was to my old address. How do I go about having state reissue me check and send it to the right address? Can they still do direct deposit or do they have to right another check?

You will have to contact the state to see how to trace the check if they mailed it to the wrong address.
