I was trying to re-process my 2024 taxes because the desktop version of Turbotax 2024 made it seem like I could still e-file. It allowed me to pay the e-filling fee for state, then afterwards told me that the filing season is over with and I had to mail them. How do I get the e-filing fee for 2024 put back on my credit card?
Thanks,
Michael

E-filing is permanently closed for 2024, so you do have to file the return by mail. If you paid the state e-file fee:
No one in the user forum can resolve a billing issue. If you have a question about your TurboTax fees or billing, make sure you use the word “billing” in your request for help. Do not use the word “refund.”
When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s. Use a mailing service that will track it, such as certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.
Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses. Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.
If you think that you have been charged for a state tax return twice or by mistake, you can request a refund from TurboTax by following these instructions:
How do I request a refund for my TurboTax product?
Note that there is a TurboTax fee for state tax return filing whether you e-file or paper file the return, and for TurboTax Desktop that purchase is made before the return is prepared.
