Changes to child tax credit

I filed my tax return for this year before Biden change the amount given for child tax credit well I need to amend or will this be adjusted at the IRS?

President Biden proposed that change, but only Congress can enact it.  It has not done so yet.  If and when it does, the IRS will develop procedures.  And we don't know yet if it will be retroactive for the 2020 tax year.

The changes to CTC have not passed yet, if and when they do it will be monthly payments starting around July or for next years taxes.
