Change from "SELF-PREPARED" to my name on my mother's taxes. I'm not being paid.

Will Turbot Tax allow me to change from "SELF-PREPARED" to my name and my SSN on my mother's taxes? I'm not being compensated, in fact I'm paying all of the costs of the extra state software and e-filing costs because she can no longer afford to pay a professional.

No.  It is still Self Prepared.  You technically are just helping her.  Self Prepared basically means you are not being paid.  You could enter your name as a 3rd Party Designee if you have the Desktop program.

That is not available in the Online versions. You can only enter a 3rd Party Designee in the Desktop program using the Forms mode. You have to switch to Forms mode (click Forms in the upper right (left for Mac)) and select the Info Wks. Scroll down until you get to Part V Third Party designee: section. Check the YES box and then you can fill in the name, phone number and any 5 numbers for the PIN.
