My original federal 2024 tax submission was efiled and has an "Accepted" status. I need to make an adjustment (for a late arriving W2), so did an amended federal return and am getting a message when attempting to E file which says "Nothing Selected to E-File" even though I clearly selected the E-File radio button under the Federal return.

It is too soon to amend your return. You should wait until the return is fully processed. If you are expecting a refund and are amending for an additional refund, the IRS states you should wait until you've received the original refund. Then, you can amend as soon as the federal amended tax return form 1040-X is available for filing in TurboTax. Use this tool to check availability of forms, including 1040X: Tax form availability

The 2024 amended tax return, Form 1040-X, will not be available for filing using TurboTax until 02/13/2025.
Thanks. In this case my refund is lower after the amendment so was trying to be proactive and correct it.
OK. I will wait until I here from the IRS.
The new date was pushed to 2/22/2025.
Tough year for TT. The software is missing a lot of critical components this year.
Has there been an updated date released? As of 2/24/25 I'm not seeing the amend option (but can see it for prior years).

The amend feature for 2024 is available using the online editions, if you have e-filed the tax return and it was accepted by the IRS or you have printed and mailed the 2024 tax return.
See screenshot -
[RESOLVED] Return has to be processed first
Great news! That's not showing up in my UI of the online edition. Is there a lag between when my return was accepted and when the button appears on the UI?
If you're using TurboTax Online, close the program, clear your Cache and Cookies, re-open TurboTax and you should see the Amend option.

The year 2024 1040x program has a bug. It doubles my amended interest in the total income and it doesn’t properly apply my overpayment

- click okay and you'll get another message with a token
If you're using TurboTax Desktop:
Please reply to this message with your token so that we can further assist you. Let us know all the states, if any, that are included on the return.
I was trying to efile a 1040X for 2024 and the state return was automatically amended. When trying to transmit them both (federal and state) I was receiving a transmission error. When I realized that my state may not allow electronic submissions for amended forms, I opted to print the state forms and efile the federal (1040X). When this change was made, the federal amendment (1040X for 2024) transmitted successfully, and a follow-up email from TurboTax was received stating an email will be sent in 24-48 hours letting me know if the return has been accepted.

From what I understand, the only thing you changed on your return for the amendment was adding interest income.
The reason that the overall income changes by more than the added interest income is because of your Social Security income. Based on your level of income, some of your Social Security benefits are taxable. Therefore, when you add more income to your return, more of your Social Security benefits become taxable. You can see this happening on line 6b of your updated 1040. Compare the amount on that line before and after adding the interest. The difference there is equal to the amount of extra income being added on the 1040X in addition to the interest income.
It seems that you had your overpayment applied to your 2025 estimated tax when you filed your original 2024 return. This election is irrevocable. Now that you have additional tax due on your amended return, you can't have the overpayment applied to that balance. You will need to make the payment with the amendment.
