Can my soon-to-be ex-wife amend a tax return that has already been filed before a divorce is complete and if so what does that mean

I was the only source of income for the tax year we were married as of December 31st taxes were filed in February divorce started in February ex-wife is threatening to amend taxes if I don't give her the tax return she says I wouldn't have the return if it wasn't for having the dependents

How did you file?  Did you file Joint?   If you were still married on Dec 31 you can file a joint return.   Sounds like you need to talk to your lawyer.

If you were still married at the end of 2021 you could file a joint return or you could file married filing separately.   But  you cannot file a joint return if your spouse did not agree to file that way.   Sounds like you both need to talk with your attorneys.
