Can I upload my TurboTax return from the downloaded PC version to the online version so it shows up on my online timeline?

No, you cannot upload to the Online version.  That said, I recommend you download your Online .tax files and your desktop and save on a flash drive, or on a Cloud strorage medium so you will always have access to them.

I think all the Directors should be fired as its so ridiculous and backward that you cant move from desktop version to on-line version.  I've used Turbotax for 16 years for rental properties, etc and I cannot re-type all the depreciation /etc. I think the need a new board that can take them to 21st century technology.  I so wish I could switch to another company but its just too much data to re-type.

@DeborahIskandar     I think you misunderstood what the original question in this thread was about.   You cannot store a return prepared in desktop software in an online account.   It is stored on your own hard drive or any back up device you used.   You can transfer a previous year return to a new return from online to desktop or vice-versa so that you do not have to re-enter everything.
