You will need to get a refund advance using Credit Karma. You do not need Credit Karma to get a regular refund.

You cannot get the refund advance unless you agree to get a Credit Karma card. If you are not getting the advance, you can choose in the FILE section to enter your own banking information for direct deposit or choose to receive a mailed check.
