And...."I made some changes after submitting..."-----Oh no----those changes went nowhere but they messed up your tax return. You cannot make changes to a tax return after you e-file it.
If there were some mistakes on the return you can only fix them if the e-file is rejected. You can fix them and re-file. But if the IRS accepted your e-file, you have to wait for the IRS to process the return fully and then amend. You cannot amend now. When and if you amend, it is done on a special form called Form 1040X which becomes available in late February. And.....you have to be able to work from your return looking exactly the way it looked when you e-filed it.
So --- if you can----change it back to the way it looked before you e-filed it and then back away from the keyboard.
