You have to file or mail in a 2017 tax return for your 2017 taxes. You can transfer your data from your 2016 TurboTax file into your 2017 return as a starting point, but you still will need to enter all of the 2017 income and expense data. Plus, tax laws regarding deductions and credits options may have changed in your situation for 2017, therefore the IRS requires that everyone go through the process of filing taxes each year using only current year forms.
TurboTax will walk you through the process in order to complete your 2017 tax return. If desired, TurboTax also has a "Live" option this year, where an expert tax preparer can help you prepare your return. More information, as well as cost, can be found in this link: TurboTax Live (Online)
