Can I file 2015 now if I haven't filed previous years yet 2013-2014?

I am trying to play catch up filing 3 years of taxes 2013, 2014, and 2015.  I would like to file 2015 now, then return to file 2013 & 2014.  Is this ok? Is there a requirement to file taxes sequentially?

Yes, you can file 2015 now and file the previous years later. You are not required to file sequentially. However, depending on your tax situation, there is a chance that something in an earlier year would affect your 2015 tax return. If you file 2015, then discover something in 2013 or 2014 that affects 2015, you would have to file an amended return for 2015. There's nothing terrible about filing an amended return, but it would be better to do them in sequence.

If you are expecting a refund for 2013, you have to file the 2013 tax return by April 15, 2017 in order to get the refund.

...and you'll have to buy each year's tax programs separately as downloads now (Online isn't an option for you for any of those years)  Buy here, or on Amazon (but be careful fi you buy "deluxe" on Amazon...some of the cheapest versions come without a Free state software set...if you have a state you need to file).

All will have to be filed by mail...and if you get a refund for any year, do not attempt to apply the refund to the next year's taxes (guess you could do it for a 2015 refund applied to 2016 taxes...if you get the 2015 mail-filed in the next month)
