Can I do anything to get my never received 2020 refund back with my 2021 refund

It was unemployment taxs but I think it was something to do with identifying my self with IRS I've been trying all year but  no luck

You will have to contact the IRS for information on your refund.  TurboTax does not issue refunds.  IRS does not inform TurboTax of the status of your return once the return has been accepted by the IRS.

I suggest calling 1-844-55-5640 very early in the morning to be able to speak to someone.  Be prepared to hold for a while.

First your 2020 refund cannot be "added" to the 2021 return ... you MUST verify your ID before the refund will be released.  This can also slow down or stop the 2021 return so get it done.

TurboTax cannot help you verify your identity with the IRS.   It is a difficult and frustrating problem right now, since it is so hard to call the IRS, but you have to comply with the IRS request to verify your identity in order to get your refund.  We have heard anecdotally that calling either very early in the morning or late---nearly at close of the business day--can be effective to get through to the IRS.

2. Use the online identity verification service
