Can I change from getting my tax return from a paper check and get it as direct deposit?

Your return will be pending until the IRS starts accepting returns on Jan 29 and can not be changed. If your return is accepted you will get an email. If the return is rejected the e-mail will tell you what to correct and you can make changes before e-filing again. You can not change if the return is accepted.

If you already e-filed it is too late to change how you want to receive your refund.  The IRS does not allow it.   If your e-file is rejected you can change it and enter banking information for direct deposit.
