Can I change/fix the name of the Financial Institution after I've entered a 1099-B? When I hit "edit" it allows me to edit the stock sales, but not the name of the bank.

I have not filed yet, just accidentally entered the name of the Bank incorrectly and want to fix it without having to re-do the whole form (I'd have to re-enter 6 stock sales, cost basis, buy/sell dates, etc).

If you are using TurboTax Online, there is no method to edit the financial institution after the information has been entered.  

If you are using a CD/downloaded version of TurboTax, then:

• Exit the Stocks, Mutual Funds, Bonds section of your return
• Go back into that section and click Edit beside the investment account that needs to be changed
• Check the box showing that you need to change the name
• Make the necessary change, and then click Continue

@AnnetteB6,  your answer is incorrect for the desktop version.

The correct method is:

• Click to open the View menu at the top of your program
• Click Forms
• Look down the list for the name of the Form (Institution) with the error and click on it
• Look in your form for a box with the error (i.e. Name of reporting financial institution), and correct it
• To return to where you were, click View again, then select Step-by-Step
• Double check to make sure your change worked, and don't forget to 💾 just in case 🙂
