Can I amend my taxes and change itemized deductions to standard deductions I chose itemize by mistake I don’t have mortgage or owe at medical bills

normally Turbotax would have chosen the larger of your standard deduction or itemized.  can't say what happened except that if you're married filing separately both you and your spouse must use the same method on each of your returns.  if that's not the case you can amend but Turbotax won't have the form ready until at least 3/25 (maybe later due to the new Covid Relief Act)  and while you may e-file the 1040-X expect pt to take at least 6 to 8 week before you receive any refund.

Thank you for this information I will wait until 3/25 to amend it I filed head of household but this is my first time filing on my own and I mistakenly chose itemize deductions
