Can I amend my 2021 tax return if I just found out something may be wrong on it?

I recently got my bank statements showing I received the third stimulus. However, it was not the amount TurboTax thought it might be. But I still received it, even though I did not remember receiving it. How can I fix that information on my tax return if I have already submitted my taxes in order to correct that specific information.

If that was your only error, the IRS usually will correct it automatically and adjust your return and send you a letter.  If they do process it as filed, you will have to amend.

The IRS looks for mistakes with the stimulus payments.   They will find your mistake and they will fix it.   Your refund will be delayed though so do not be surprised by a much longer wait.
