By mistake, I put the third stimulus amount at 2800 but it should have been 5600. How do I fix this?

If you haven't filed you can go back and fix it.  To get to the stimulus questions in TurboTax at any time, you can search for stimulus or recovery rebate credit then hit ENTER and there should be a Jump to link

If you are trying to trigger it,

Click on Other Tax Situations at top

Click on Let's get started

Answer some questions then Continue

Then click on Let's keep going

Next screen is for the Third Stimulus, if you qualify

If you have filed the IRS should catch that and adjust line 30 and reduce your refund or send you a bill.

It depends.  If you have already filed your tax return, you will need to wait for the IRS to process your return.  They will adjust your return and notify you.  If you haven't filed your return yet, log in to your TurboTax and make sure you have your return open:

  • Click on Search
  • Type "Recovery Rebate Credit" in the search box
  • Hit Enter
  • Click on "Jump to Recovery Rebate Credit"
  • Answer "Yes" to " Did you [or Spouse] get a third stimulus payment?
  • This should take you to a screen that says " Let's double-check the amount you received"
  • Answer "No" and enter the amount you received
