Hi. Just curious. I typed EINs from 1099 and w2 from different employers, but non on them are on my tax return. I see the numbers (income), but not the EINs.
Is it supposed to be like that? How IRS knows how much money I got from a specific employer?
Thank you.

Their numbers will not be on your actual return. There are worksheets that are transmitted with your return that will list the information from your 1099's and W-2 that you enter. When you go to print your documents you should be able to see it if you select "print all documents and worksheets". This will generate a very large document. The 1099's and W-2's are sent to the IRS as well by the issuing party and then they are matched to your social security number.
If you look at the forms that say keep for your records you will see the EIN on the Wage and Tax Statement. It says keep for your records. If you were to print and mail, you would need to send a copy of your W-2 and 1099 with the return.
