At some point along the way I ended up with the self-employed version and do not need it. How do I change this? There is literally one w-2 on the form.

If you have not paid for the online edition you are using, have not filed your tax return or registered the Free edition, then you can clear your return and start over with a lower priced edition.  Click on My Account at the top of the program screen while working on the 2016 online tax return.  Click on Clear & Start Over.
