As a non-itemizing filer, how would I remove the $300 credit I initially input? (I haven't filed yet).

When I return to donation credits, I'm only permitted to edit by itemizing donations.

You should enter your charity donations.  Even if you take the Standard Deduction you can get an additional credit for 300 (600 married).

Yes. For 2021 you can take the Standard Deduction and also get 300/600 for charity
