Are there no loan advances this year?

Refund advance loans are not available from TurboTax at this time.   TurboTax’s loan program typically starts in January and ends in mid-February.   Your tax return cannot be filed until later in January.   One of the options you can select when you are ready to file is to get a refund advance loan,    You do not receive any money until your e-file has been accepted by the IRS—-and the IRS will not begin to accept e-files until at least mid to late January.

And…..do not try to prepare a tax return without ALL of your income documents; you must include every 2023 W-2 on the same tax return.  Employers have until the end of January to issue W-2’s.   Wait until you have all of your W-2’s.

TurboTax has never offered a so-called refund anticipation loan (which have interest rates as high as 36%).   What TurboTax does is offer some customers the ability to get a portion of their refund issued on a debit card when they file their official return, which generally means the payment comes about three weeks early, and there is no interest charged.  Not all customers expecting refunds qualify, it depends on your credit status, and the program is not allowed in some states, for example.
