I made an amend while my taxes are being processed but, have not mailed the amend yet will I still get my 1st refund in a timely manner
Your original return is still being processed as it normally would be. I can't speak to whether your refund will be sent in a timely manner.
Until you mail the amended return, the IRS has no way to know that any changes have been made on your end using TurboTax. They are still processing the return that was electronically filed or mailed to them initially.
Thanks for your reply. It was the state refund I suppose to had received weeks ago as like my federal refund.
/how do I amend a return. I now have a 1098-T
I deed to amend my 2019 Tax Return due to my own error, do I need an AMENDED FILE FORM?
The original 2019 Tax Return was just mailed on 1/6/2021
Since having to file by mail, I dont know if they have received it.
They owe me more money. So is there an 2019 tax return form I need to mail mail with the Amended tax return?
You can prepare your 2019 amended return and e-file it in TurboTax, but you need to wait until your original return has been processed. If you will be receiving a refund from the original return, wait until you receive it before you prepare your amended return.
The amended federal return is a form 1040-X. It is a two page form that will list your original tax numbers, the numbers you are changing and the new adjusted amounts. TurboTax will also prepare a state amended return if necessary, based on the information you enter.
You will see an option to prepare an amended return on your home page in TurboTax. It may not be available at this time, however, as it is early in the tax preparation season.
