Amending 2018 -- Do I need the 2018 version of TurboTax on my computer?

Yes.  Did you use the Online version or the Desktop program to do 2018?

Starting this year (in 2020) you might be able to amend a 2018 Online return actually in your Online Account.  It's a new thing and I don't know how it's working out.  Let us know if it works for you.

I used desktop version but I don't have it anymore. Uninstalled when I installed 2019.

Did you uninstall it manually yourself?  Because just installing 2019 does not uninstall other years.  Maybe it's still on your computer.  I have many prior year programs still installed.  

Did you originally buy the CD or the download?  You can download it again.  And you will need the file ending in .tax2018 to amend.  Do you still have it?

I for sure uninstalled it myself, and also threw away the box with CD.

I do have the .tax2018 file. 

I'm trying to contact customer service, but no one answered today. I'll try again.

If you have Windows try this.  It's to amend online returns but probably will work.  Let me know.
