I filed my return electronically using TurboTax Premier desktop version. Now I need to amend my return - how do I do that? I don't see an "Amend" function in the software.

If you are expecting a refund, we recommend that you wait to amend until after the IRS has processed your original return and you have received your refund.
To amend your tax return, please read this TurboTax article.
Please note that the amendment form 1040X will only be available in TurboTax after 2/25/2026.
The Form 1040-X for amending a 2025 federal tax return is estimated to be available in TurboTax on 02/25/2026
An amended return, Form 1040-X, can only be printed and mailed to the IRS if the original tax return was not e-filed. The IRS will take up to 20 weeks or longer to process an amended tax return.
Before starting to amend the tax return, wait for the tax refund to be received or the taxes due to be paid and processed by the IRS.
See this TurboTax support FAQ for amending a current year tax return - https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-return/amend-federal-tax-return-curr...
What year? The Amend form won’t be ready until the end of next week.
Did you do the original return in the Desktop program? You start by just opening your return as usual. Go up to File-Open. You need to have the .taxyyyy file on your computer.
Also you first need to check the filing status inside the program so it knows it was filed and accepted. Open your return and go up to the top black menu bar first item
File > Electronic Filing > Check Electronic Filing Status
Then save your return and close it. Close the program and reopen it.
And you may need to be signed into the same account under File right above exit.
If you don't see a button for Need to Amend a Filed Return? on your home screen then you can get to it here. Go to:
Federal Taxes -or- Personal (for H&B)
Other Tax Situations
last section, Other Tax Forms
Amend A Return - Click the Start or Update button
But first you should save your return with another name to make a copy to amend so you don’t change your actual return. Go up to File-Save As (Duplicate on Mac).
