If you haven't already registered your TurboTax account or paid your TurboTax fees, you can delete your NY return. See the screenshot below.
If you've registered your account, you can't delete the return, but you can choose not to file it.
When you are in the File section, on the screen Let’s get ready to e-file choose File by Mail (see screenshot).
On Change filing methods, check that you're not ready to file NY, and never go back to file it. Or choose that you will file the NY return by mail, and don't file it.
