Since you filed back in January, but are just receiving your refund, the IRS took a bit longer to process and look at your return and made changes to it.
In what form is the IRS telling you they can't find your tax filing? If you received a refund, this means they processed your return. You should have received a letter from the IRS telling you why your refund amount was changed. The two most common reasons so far this season are:
You should look for a letter from the IRS and if you do not have one or do not receive one, you would need to call the IRS at 800-829-1040 as no one else would have the answer as to why your refund was reduced.
I do not have any children so I don't know how I was to receive anything for the child tax credit. I never filed anything for receiving the child tax credit anyway.
As for the stimulus I have ever received 1 check out of the 3 so yes I'm claiming that I didn't receive any.
I have checked with the irs multiple times about the status of my refund. All of which have said that there is no known status. Which has lead me to assume that they have not received it.
The SBTG LLC where you received the $91.00 is the company that sends out the refund once the return has processed. That is if you chose to have your payment to TurboTax come out of your refund.
The status you are seeing from the IRS does not make sense since you received a refund. Grant it, not the amount expected but A Refund.
As Vanessa A stated, IRS will issue you a notice explaining what the difference is in the amount expected and received.
TurboTax is no longer in the picture once your return has been accepted by the IRS. TurboTax does not process refunds or receive any notification from the IRS when your status changes. You will have to contact the IRS with any inquiries. Privacy Laws prevent the IRS from haring information with TurboTax.
In the meantime, you can request an account transcript from the IRS. That transcript will verify status for you and might provide details on adjustments. Make sure it is the account transcript and not the return transcript. You have the return but you need to see what is on your account. Go to: Get A Transcript - IRS.
I have checked on the website and the IRS did give me the stimulus. I will talk to them about that issue. But they did reward me around 268 dollars and I only received 91 dollars. I understand what you wrote but who else would I talk to to get the remainder of my money.
The IRS is the one who issues refunds. That is who you would speak to about your refund. TurboTax does not issue refunds.
Contact an IRS customer service representative to correct any agency errors by calling 800-829-1040. Customer service representatives are available Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. local time, unless otherwise noted (see telephone assistance for more information).
