Question

Will my refund not be issued until Feb 15th at the earliest because of the eitc and actc on my return, even though turbo tax estimates my refund to be issued on Feb 9th?

If you are subject to PATH you will not get your refund until late February.     That date you are seeing from TT is only an estimated date based on the 21 day average.

If you are getting earned income credit on line 27 or additional child tax credit on line 28 You are subject to the delay required by the PATH act.  Do not expect your refund earlier than late February.

If you claimed the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) or the Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC), you can expect to get your refund by February 27 if:

  • You file your return online
  • You choose to get your refund by direct deposit
  • We found no issues with your return

THUS...the software's AI isn't yet smart enough to discern that a later date may apply to you....and is just using a totally generic response.
