@Whit5 -  what do you mean?

are you saying you see the W-2 amounts on your transcript, but never received the W-2 from the employer?

if you never received the W-2, you'll need to ask the employer for a copy.  They are required to transmit the same information to the IRS.

the IRS doesn't "approve" W-2s. they just get the information from your employer and post it.

We are not sure what you mean by "approve my W-2."   I think it is possible that you are confused about the tax terminology you are using.

Do you mean that you filed a tax return---which would have been on a Form 1040----and that you entered the income from your W-2 that you received from your employer?

When you e-file a tax return, you get back the message telling you if it was "accepted" or "rejected."   "Accepted" only means that it went into the system.   There is still a process that can take weeks or months in order to get your refund "approved" and sent to you.

When you e-file your federal return you will receive two emails from TurboTax.  The first one will say that your return was submitted.  The second email will tell you if your federal return was accepted or rejected.  If you e-filed a state return, there will be a third email to tell you if the state accepted or rejected your state return.

First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:

If the IRS accepted it, what does it say here?

Or does your account say “Ready to Mail?”

Note:  If it says “Ready to Mail” or “Printed” that means YOU have to mail it yourself.  TurboTax does not mail your tax return for you.

Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control.  TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.

You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 35a of your 2021 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

To track your state refund:

If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing.

OR——if you filed by mail, expect a long wait.   It is taking the very backlogged IRS six to nine months to process mailed returns.   Until a human opens your envelope and enters the data into the system, nothing will even show up on the refund site, so you will have to be very patient.

If you mean something else----please post back and explain.
