Why havent my taxes been accepted by the IRS yet when I filed before others and theirs have been accepted already?

That's normal for most people.   The IRS does not open up for normal processing of returns until January 28.  A few returns are pulled early for testing purposes so you may run into people who have been accepted.  The vast majority of folks will have to wait until January 28, or it might even be up to a couple days later, due to the backlog when they "open the gate" on January 28.

In the meantime, you can check the status by logging back into your account or by using this tool:
