Why hasnt my taxes been accepted?

I filed with turbotax on saturday and still have yet to be accepted. I have never had this problem.

The status should update in approximately 24-48 hours but it sometimes could be longe. Unfortunately, TurboTax has no control over how long the IRS takes to accept a return. For more information on a "pending" return status, please click here. The IRS estimates that most refunds will be sent within three weeks after your e-filed returns are accepted. Many refunds will come sooner. You can check the status of your refund by going to www.irs.gov/refunds. For more information, please click here.

After January, e-filed returns generally sit in Pending status for 24-48 hours, but the IRS does have a backlog of returns to go through. Sometimes state returns stay in Pending for several days or even longer. I would give it some time and continue checking back on your e-file status using the link provided below:

UMM.... when you filed on the congratulations page.... it listed 3 dates across the top... did you read them??

they are.... date filed.... date expected to be accepted... date of refund... the refund date is about 20 days out from the date you filed.... could be longer if lots of people file at the same time... go back and check your dates... and then I guess just wait like the rest of us... LOL!!!

This is my current situation it hasn't been 48 hours yet but it's getting close hopefully mine will be accepted today as this was the expected date. I've never had to wait this long. It's very nerve wracking.

No need to worry. It may take longer than the usual 24-48 hours in some cases for your return to get accepted. See this FAQ regarding What does pending mean.

I have the save problem. I filed on the 18th and it still hasn't been accepted. I know others who got an email within hours. Its very irritating.

My refund was accepted on jan 13th i only file the ez form no earned income why havent i recieved it yet

Since your tax refund is taking longer than the typical 21 days to receive, see this Turbo Tax FAQ regarding What to do if it's been over 21 days.

I filed on Jan 29th.. Still hasn't been accepted.. Last year was accepted in 4 days?

@barbeno Have you confirmed yet, that your e-file was submitted? Unless you had paper filed?

To check if your return was filed, check your e-file status. If no status is showing then the return was not completed and submitted. You should have also received a email that your return was successfully transmitted.

If you don't see a status, go through the TurboTax File section again. Be sure to go all the way to the end and select Transmit my returns now.

If your return does show a status, then once "Accepted" within 24 hours you can start tracking your refund on the IRS Where’s My Federal Refund? site.
