Question

Why did I receive a letter informing me of verification of non filing all of the sudden for 2019 when I already filed?

Did you ask for a filing transcript ?   If so then you got the info they had on file at the time of the request ... your filed return must not have "hit the que" yet ... this virus shutdown has delayed many things.  Just ignore it.

This same thing just popped up in my records on the irs website. It was a verification request of non-filer for the 2020 tax period that we havent even been able to for yet.
i never requested anything like that and I’ve always filed and verified that my refund last year did hir my account like I remembered.
weird that they would even issue that letter to anyone to use as verification that they did not file in the 2020 tax season that technically hasnt even officially began yet.  Not 1 person has technically filed yet, but they sent me the verification form randomly.....this has been bugging me since I found it online last week, because Im affraid Im missing something that my logic cant explain but might somehow cause me to miss out on my family stimulus due to this little technicality.

any ideas to explain that?

your thoughts?

By any chance did you try to submit a non-filer return in the spring last year in order to provide bank information for a direct deposit of the stimulus payment provided at that time?
