When I was finailizing my state taxes my refund went down from $1,600 to $877. I can't see what changed that caused that reduction.

Is there a way to recover a prior version of my tax file so I can see what chnged?

That refund meter is ONLY correct when all your income and expenses have been entered ... until then that amount will rise and fall like the tide. What did you enter when you noticed the change ? Did you add more income ?

I didn't enter any more income... Turbotax was finaliing things for my state return (Colorado) it asked a question about whether the return would be filed prior to 4/15, I checked before (that was the only change, I swear) and boom my refund went down to $877.

It is possible that until you completed that screen the final calculations of the state return could not happen. Review the actual return to see what is on it ...
