The online software for 2020 returns will become available in mid-November; desktop software will be released November 27 to retailers such as Amazon, Costco, BestBuy, etc.  The IRS will not begin to accept 2020 returns for processing until about the end of January 2021.  Employers, banks, financial institutions etc. will have un til end of January /early February to issue W-2's, 1099's, 1098's etc.  Try not to be in a big hurry to file a 2020 return----every year we are inundated with questions from people so eager to file for tax refunds that they file incorrectly without a W-2 or a 1099, etc. and then they have to amend----a process that takes months.

@xmasbaby0  When will Online open?  Isn't it usually in mid-December (you said November)?

The Online version usually comes online early December  and the Downloaded version mid November with the CDs in the mail around Thanksgiving.   However this is not a usual year so actual dates are still TBD.
