So I accidentally filed my 2018 taxes as 2019 what do I do

I found my 2019 taxes and then I had a 2018 W-2 that I when to file And I did not see a box that allowed me to switch the year what do I do

If you have already filed the return, you will not be able to make changes to it.  You will have to amend it.  Do not amend until you have determined if the IRS accepted or rejected the return.  If accepted wait until either you have received your refund or any payment you have made to the IRS has cleared.  If rejected you may go ahead and amend.  

You will be able to amend as soon as Form 1040X becomes available.  At this time the expected date of availability for the form 1040X is

02/12/2020 , however that date is subject to change.  You can track it's availability by going to the following link.

Hi I need assistance. While I was filing I didn't know how to change the year from 2019 to 2018 so I finished my federal but not my state. So i send an e file to myself but I dont think it send it thru to the IRS so I need to know how cancel or go thru an change the year.
