SBTPG products shorted my Federal refund by $922.11

My federal return was accepted by the IRS & projected to be $1537, after fees were taken out, however I received a deposit today for a third of that amount $614.89.

The deposit came from TPG PRODUCTS | SBTPG LLC which is apparently partnered with TurboTax.

Please assist with this issue as the return I received is entirely inaccurate. I am owed $922.11.

This is infuriating and unacceptable!

Once your return is filed, TurboTax has no control over the processing or the timing when the IRS releases your refund.

Your refund could be offset. The IRS and State Governments have the ability to offset a refund to pay for certain past due debts.  You generally will receive a letter stating what the offset was for.  

The IRS provides a toll-free number, (800) 304-3107,  to call for information about tax offsets.

Is the amount sent/issued by the IRS the same as the refund amount shown on your federal tax return Form 1040 Line 35a? - https://www.irs.gov/refunds

If not, then go to this IRS website for information on reduced refunds - https://www.irs.gov/taxtopics/tc203

Are you also receiving a state tax refund? If so, the state refund is sent directly to you based on how you chose to receive the state tax refund, it does not go through the third party processor.

If you requested to have the TurboTax account fees deducted from your federal tax refund, the IRS will send the refund to a third party processor to have the fees and the $40 service charge deducted. The third party processor will deduct the TurboTax fees plus the $40 service charge and then attempt to direct deposit the remaining refund balance into the account that you entered on your tax return.
