Rejected State Return, Federal return accepted and corrupt tax file

Yesterday i completed via TurboTax desktop my 2022 taxes (or so i thought).  My Federal taxes were accepted, however this morning i received an email indicating the State return was rejected.  The solution given in the email is to open the  return in TurboTax, and the details about what's causing the problem will be displayed.  When attempting to open the return, i receive a message indicating there is a problem opening the return as the tax file is corrupt.  I do have a pdf copy of my filing however i can no longer view via the software, so i am uncertain as to the issue with the rejected state return.   Do i restart the entire process, recreating new returns. even though the Federal return has been accepted?  Please advise.  Thanks!

No, you would not start the process over. One option to help with a corrupted file, is to do the following:

    • Save all the files onto a flash drive
    • Uninstall all TurboTax versions
    • Next search for TurboTax after the uninstall on C: drive
    • Next do a fresh install of TurboTax

For more information with a file coming up as corrupt, please click the following link: Corrupt File
