Solved

My wife does not have SSN yet. How can I file an extension? We expect it within the next month, but possibly after April 15.

As the title states. She's from out of the country but we married in mid year of 2018 and she lived dependent of me for most of the year.

The extension request require a SSN to be input.

Don't e-file the extension.  Print out the extension and mail it in.  (Use a "dummy" social like 999-88-9999 if you need to get past the diagnostic).  Then, when it prints out, white out the dummy number and write "APPLIED" in the box, and mail it to the address provided.

Ok I attempted to do that. But after clicking submit, it just says "Success! Your extension has been sent". It didn't offer to print the form anywhere. What do I do from here? 😕😕
