Question

Is it possible to get a copy of my 1040 form from 2020? I need it to fill out a form for school.

You didn't save a copy when you filed?   You should always save the pdf file each year.

How to Access prior year online returns
https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/prior-year-return/help/how-do-i-access-my-prior-year-return/00/27010

If you can't get the side menus to open up to access the prior year..... You need to start entering some basic Personal Info in 2022 for the side menu to open up. Just continue a little ways into 2022. I had to go though about 12 screens.

If you used the Desktop CD/Download program then the only copy is on your computer and not saved or stored online. So you need to make and keep your own backups.

Or request a transcript from the IRS

Thank you for all of the info! I do typically save them, however for some reason, that years tax documents are completely gone from anywhere I could’ve saved them!

I downloaded a transcript from the IRS but I am having a hard time trying to figure out which section would be considered “Amount of your income tax for 2020 (Form 1040 -line 22 minus schedule 2)” on the transcript since it looks different than the form.
