Question

If I filed a return on 07/15/2020 for my 2019 return, it was accepted and a refund supposed to be sent, why have I still not received it? I also cannot track it, help?

I have checked the IRS website, called the IRS multiple times and have been told time and again that they can't provide any info or that the call volume is too high for them to help me. It's been like this since July of LAST YEAR! So I don't know if something was filed incorrectly or what the problem is. TurboTax is saying that my return was accepted and my refund supposed to be received last year, but I don't have anything. None of my stimulus checks or my refund. What gives? How do I track this? Please help. This is really frustrating.

Please see:

IRS commissioner says he hopes to clear tax refund backlog by summer (msn.com)

Contacting the IRS will not help, and it has implored taxpayers not to call.  So all you can do is continue to wait.

Thanks for the response! It's mind boggling that so many returns are still not processed and they can't include any sort of notification about that on their automated messages about that. Being constantly told that they simply can't provide information about the return only makes it more difficult to understand what is wrong and if it's something I can rectify or if it's something outside of my control. Still, thanks again for the response!
