Solved

I thought my biz partner filed my 2014 married status through you in November of 16. Is there any record of this?

A 2014 tax return prepared in 2016 would have needed the TT 2014 desktop software, so any return would exist only on the computer used to prepare it.

It also would have been necessary to print it, have you and your spouse manually sign it, and then file it by mail.

So if it's the more updated software he did it on then we need to start all over?

Like SJ said in the answer below. The tax return would only exist on the computer that prepare it with the 2014 software.   Did you and your spouse sign a paper 2014 return and mail it to the IRS?

Also, was it prepared using TurboTax?   The IRS does allow e-filing of the current year and the prior two years, but TurboTax only support e-filing the current year.   Perhaps a different tax service was used.
