Solved

I received a letter from the IRS stating that I owe 1,800$ on May 3, 2017 because I was sent a 1099B form late. How do I fix this with TurboTax?

I have the amending software for my Mac but can't seem to find how you add a 1099B. Also will this take care of the response the IRS is expecting by May 3, 2017?

Yes, you will need to enter the information from Form 1099-B and report your historical basis for the investments that were sold. In most cases, this reduces and/or eliminates the additional tax due on your original return.

To find this on your amended return, start TurboTax and open your return.

Use the Find box in the upper right corner, type in "1099-b", and hit Enter. Click on "jump to 1099-B" to go directly to the start of that section.

Add a new 1099-B and follow the prompts to enter all requested information.

When you are finished, run Review to check for errors. Then print, sign, and mail your amended return with a copy of the IRS letter you received. Be sure to follow any instructions in that letter with regard to where and/or how to submit your amended return.
